About the Event

The Emerald Mile is a new Run Ottawa event held alongside the city's first St. Patrick's Day Parade since 2019. The festive morning features two race distances.

Distances

  • One mile (approximately 1.6 km)
  • Kids 800m run (for ages 5-12)

Course Route

The one-mile course follows the parade route through the heart of the capital. It starts at the Supreme Court of Canada on Wellington Street, passes in front of Parliament Hill, crosses the Rideau Canal, continues along Sussex Drive, turns onto York Street, and finishes in the ByWard Market. The kids' run follows an out-and-back course starting and finishing near the Supreme Court of Canada.

Registration Inclusions

Registration fees are listed before tax. They include a personalized race bib (for those who register before a specified deadline), professional chip timing with results available, and post-race snacks and beverages.

  • Mile Adult: $33.75 + HST
  • Mile Youth (ages 12-24): $16.88 + HST
  • Kids 800m (ages 5-12): $16.88 + HST

Practical Information

The event takes place on a Saturday in March. Race bib pick-up is on race day starting at 10:00am at the start location. The start and bib pick-up location is the Supreme Court of Canada, 301 Wellington St, Ottawa. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
