The Elizabeth Ferris Memorial 5K
The Elizabeth Ferris Memorial 5K is scheduled for October 25, 2026 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY. The event is a community run/walk that offers both in-person and virtual participation, with a virtual results window from October 25 to November 1.
Registration includes a base entry fee of $30 with additional processing fees noted on the event page. Personalized bibs are available for participants who register at least three weeks before the event. Bibs can be mailed to participants and in-person pickup is offered on race day.
The course is a USATF certified 5K within Heckscher State Park. Results are provided live online, by text, and by email, and finish line photos are offered at no cost. Additional on-site features include a memorial photo wall and cash-only basket raffles.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female in age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
The event is hosted by the family of Elizabeth Ferris to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be directed to the Lustgarten Foundation.
