The Elizabeth Ferris Memorial 5K
The Elizabeth Ferris Memorial 5K is a fundraising run and walk held on October 25, 2026 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY. The event is hosted by the family to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research, and 100% of the net proceeds will go to The Lustgarten Foundation.

Event amenities include a memory wall where participants can bring a photo, cash-only basket raffles, live/text/email results, and free finish line photos. Personalized bibs are available to registrants who sign up at least three weeks before race day. Bib pickup is available in person on race day; virtual participants may receive bibs by mail or upload results and photos online during the virtual entry window.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the top finisher in each listed age group, including categories for 19 and under through 70 and over. The course is a USATF certified 5K within Heckscher State Park. Registration includes standard race terms stating fees are non-refundable and participants agree to event waivers and photo release.
