The Dumble Bimble
The Dumble Bimble is an annual charity fun run held in early September and organised in memory of two club members, with all monies raised donated to Weldmar Hospice. The event name comes from a club member's habit of saying "I'm just going out for a bimble."
The event takes place on a Tuesday night and is supported by local runners and clubs. It is presented as a family event with children and adults of a range of ages and abilities taking part. Entry is on the night.
Distances:
- Approximately 2K; off-road within Grove Farm Estates cricket field, suitable for walking or jogging.
- Approximately 5K; starts and finishes at Grove Farm Estates, includes three laps around Grove Prison.
Registration is based at The Blues Club, Grove Road, and the race starts and finishes at Grove Farm Estates, Grove Road. There is no water station on the course. Sponsorship forms are made available online and from local businesses nearer the event.
The race is conducted under ARC rules; by entering, participants declare they are medically fit and accept the ARC terms. An ARC permit is in place for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
