About the race
The Dorset Doddle follows the coastal path from Weymouth to Swanage, covering about 32 miles and carrying a 12 hour time limit. The route runs over notable coastal scenery in England and includes several steep climbs.
The event starts at the Jubilee Clock on Weymouth Esplanade and finishes at All Saints Church Hall near the junction of Ulwell Road and Redcliffe Road in Swanage. Organisers provide coach transfers from Swanage to Weymouth for an additional charge of £13; coach places must be pre-booked and are limited. The coaches depart from the North Beach car park at the top of De Moulham Road off Bonfields Avenue, postcode BH19 1NL.
The map covering the entire route is OL15 but it is not compulsory. Checkpoints along the route will offer drinks and some light snacks, and a meal is provided at the finish. Participants are advised to carry their own food and drink.
Entries are limited to 250 with a waiting list once full. The minimum age is 16; entrants under 18 must have parental consent and be accompanied by a named adult. The event accepts runners. Entry fees listed are £14 for LDWA members and £24 for non members. A detailed route description will be available to download from the Dorset LDWA website ten days before the event.
