Devils Aquathlon & Swim Challenge at Cheltenham Lido 2026
The event at Cheltenham Lido comprises two linked competitions: the Devils Aquathlon in association with Cobalt, and a separate Swim Challenge. Both are open to adults aged 18 and above and raise funds for the Cheltenham Lido charity; the aquathlon also has fundraising linked to Cobalt. The event is managed by Cheltenham Lido Ltd (registered charity number 1052203).
The Devils Aquathlon combines pool swimming with a trail run that reaches Devils Chimney on top of Leckhampton Hill and returns to the Lido. Distances offered for the aquathlon are:
- Standard Aquathlon: 1 km swim (20 lengths) then 10 km run
- Long Aquathlon: 2 km swim (40 lengths) then 10 km run
The Swim Challenge offers three pool distances:
- 1 km swim (20 lengths)
- 2 km swim (40 lengths)
- 5 km swim (100 lengths)
The event is affiliated with British Triathlon. Participants must hold a British Triathlon membership or purchase a single-use race pass; race pass fees are listed by British Triathlon as £2 for those under 24 and £8 for those aged 24 and above.
