Events
The Cut Carbon Run offers two distances: a 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run.
Registration and Fees
The pre-registration fee for both events is $30. Race day registration is $35. Team pricing is available at $25 per runner. Packet pickup and race day registration begin at 9:00 AM.
Location
All events start and finish at Chesterton Athletic Field in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The field is located at the corner of N Park Blvd, Shelburne Rd, and Chesterton Rd.
Perks and Awards
Pre-registered participants receive a short-sleeved race t-shirt. A limited quantity of shirts is available for race-day registrants. All 5K participants receive a race bib with a timing chip. Awards are given to the top five overall 5K finishers.
Organization and Cause
The event is organized by Students Cutting Carbon Emissions (SCCE), a student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Proceeds from the race are invested into the Calvert Impact Cut Carbon Note, a sustainability-focused investment project targeting carbon emissions from commercial buildings.
Additional Information
Team registrations are encouraged; there is a team costume contest with a prize. Parking is available on nearby streets including Sherbrook Rd, Courtland Blvd, N Park Blvd, and Shelburne Rd. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a short leash and start at the back of the pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
