The Cut Carbon Run
The Cut Carbon Run takes place on August 1 at Chesterton Athletic Field in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The event is presented by Students Cutting Carbon Emissions, a 501c3 student-run organization, and proceeds will be invested in Calvert Impact's Cut Carbon Note, an investment focused on sustainability in commercial buildings.
The event offers these distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Pre-registered participants receive a short-sleeved race t-shirt; a limited number of shirts will be available for day-of registrants. All 5K participants receive a race bib with a timing chip, and the top five overall finishers in the 5K receive awards.
Registration opens March 11 and an early rate of $25 applies through May 31; higher rates apply after that date. Team entries are available and include a discounted per-runner rate and a team costume contest with a prize for the best outfit.
The course starts and ends at Chesterton Athletic Field, located at the corner of N Park Blvd, Shelburne Rd, and Chesterton Rd. Street parking is available on Sherbrook Rd, Courtland Blvd, the opposite side of N Park Blvd, and Shelburne Rd. Dogs are allowed but should line up at the back and be kept on a short leash.
