Event Overview
The Crusher Run - Texas Quarry 5K is a running event held at Martin Marietta's Texas Quarry in Cockeysville, Maryland. It is the fourth annual edition of the event.
Distances
The event includes three separate runs:
- 5K Run (Timed)
- Family Fun Run (Untimed)
- ASA 5K (for Athletes Serving Athletes participants and wingmen)
There is a combined participant limit of 600 for the timed 5K and the Family Fun Run.
Course Details
The route for the 5K and Family Fun Run is on asphalt roads with a small portion on gravel. It runs along the outer edge of the working limestone quarry, offering views into the quarry, but does not go inside it. The quarry is not operational on race day. The course is described as moderately difficult with gently rolling hills.
The timed 5K event is professionally chip-timed by Racine Timing, with live results available. Participants must wear their race bib on the front of their body. Bicycles and pets are not permitted on the course.
Schedule and Awards
The event includes separate start times for the ASA 5K, the timed 5K, and the Family Fun Run. An awards ceremony for the timed 5K is held after the event concludes.
Awards are given for top overall male and female finishers, as well as first place in multiple age groups. All participants receive a race t-shirt and custom bib. Participants in the timed events also receive a finisher medal.
Post-Race and Registration
After the race, there are celebrations including food trucks, rock painting tables, face painting, a raffle, a stone counting competition, and vendor booths. An off-site after-party at B.C. Brewing offers a discount for race participants.
Registration includes a t-shirt, custom bib, food vouchers, and a stone for rock painting. Pricing follows an early bird, regular, and late registration structure, with a discount for families of three or more. Children under the age of 5 can participate for free.
