Event Overview
The Crusher Run - Texas Quarry 5K is an annual running event held at Martin Marietta's Texas Quarry in Cockeysville, Maryland. The 2026 edition marks the fourth year of the event, which takes place on the top loop and perimeter of a working limestone quarry. While the quarry remains operational during the week, it is not in use on the day of the race.
The event features three distinct categories:
- 5K Run (Timed)
- Family Fun Run (Untimed)
- ASA 5K (specifically for Athletes Serving Athletes)
Course Details
The course is primarily situated on the upper perimeter of the quarry, providing views of the site. It consists of gently rolling asphalt roads with a small section on a gravel surface. The route involves a descent into the stockpile yards before returning uphill toward the finish line. The 5K course is officially rated as moderate.
Participant Information
Attendance is limited to a combined total of 600 participants across the timed 5K and the untimed Family Fun Run. Registration includes a race t-shirt, a custom bib, and food truck vouchers. Participants in the timed 5K also receive a finisher medal. Professional chip timing services are provided for the competitive 5K, with results displayed live throughout the morning.
Post-Race Activities
The event features several family-oriented activities following the run, including rock painting, face painting, and various raffle competitions. An off-site gathering is also held at a local brewery where participants can show their race bib for a discount.
