Event
The MTC Cotswold Ultra takes place on 6 August 2026. It is a point-to-point ultra running event of 57 miles from Kemble Station (GL7 6AW) to Travelodge Oxford Abingdon Road (OX1 4XG). Total ascent is 370 metres and total descent is 474 metres. Entry for an individual place is shown as £90; entries and payments are non-refundable in normal circumstances. All entrants must meet the organiser’s minimum fitness and age requirement (entrants must be at least 20 years old on the start day). The first male and female finishers receive bespoke trophies. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and competitors are issued an MTC head visor at the start.
Route and logistics
The route follows the Thames Path to the river source, then continues via Somerford Keynes, Cricklade, Castle Eaton, Blackford Farm, Lechlade, Shifford Lock, Newbridge and Bablock Hythe before finishing in Oxford. The race uses four check-points that provide water and some nutrition, with examples including cakes, sandwiches, nuts, dried fruit, sweets, squash, cola and water. Organisers endeavour to cater for gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options; drop bags can be left at check-points.

Competitors must register at Kemble and present mandatory kit for inspection. Required kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, OS map (or downloadable maps), compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone and basic first aid kit.
