The Conquest of Avalon
Conquest of Avalon is Albion Running’s late-season ultramarathon in Somerset, finishing in Glastonbury after a final ascent over Glastonbury Tor. The event offers two distances: 50 miles and 30 miles. The 50-mile route begins at Ham Hill Country Park and, about 20 miles in, joins the 30-mile path, tracing the Leland Trail through Ilchester, past the Fleet Air Arm Museum and a string of historic villages before climbing toward the Tor.
The 30-mile option largely follows the same route to Glastonbury. Elevation totals are around 4,012 ft for the 50-mile and 2,794 ft for the 30-mile. The race features cupless aid stations and a fast, scenic course with Arthurian finish atmosphere and views of the Glastonbury Festival site.
