The City v Wharf Run Challenge
The City v Wharf Run Challenge is a corporate running event at Victoria Park, Grove Road, Bow, London E3 5TB. It brings together businesses from the City of London and Canary Wharf districts to compete as individuals and as company teams.
Distances offered:
- 5k individual run
- 10k individual run
- 10k team relay (teams of two; each participant runs 5k)
Company placings for the individual races require a minimum of four runners from the same company. Overall company results are calculated from the fastest four finishers from each company. Awards include fastest individual men and women, fastest relay team, largest company entry, and fastest company teams by gender or mixed composition. Trophies are presented after results are reviewed.
The course is two laps of Victoria Park for the 5k and four laps for the 10k, with each lap 2.5k. The route is on hard paths, is flat, and is suitable for wheelchair users. The course is marked and marshalled, medical cover is provided, and placings are based on chip timing.
Event services include race chip timing, an event medal and headband for entrants, water stations, finish line sweets, bag storage near registration (limited space), and post-race light refreshments. The event hub is near the Crown Gate East entrance; Mile End is the nearest Underground station with about a 10 to 15 minute walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
