About the race
The Cider Winders 5K is a trail race presented by the Forest Gumpers Trail Race Series in partnership with 1818 Farm & Cidery and the Rotary Club of West Ottawa. The 2026 edition was held on July 22, 2026. The event uses a course certified by Athletics Canada and is organized around a single 5 km distance.
Every registrant receives a commemorative Cider Winders glass. Souvenir t-shirts are available to order at registration and for purchase. Post-race provisions on site include cider and a sandwich. Draw prizes are offered, with contributions from Bushtukah and a special draw for a custom t-shirt quilt.
Monetary awards are available for the top three female and top three male finishers: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50. Registration fees are listed as $50 for adults and $25 for youth 18 and under. The field is limited to a maximum of 150 participants. The Rotary Club of West Ottawa will match pledges up to $2,500 made via the event registration page.
The event supports the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre (DSYTC), a non-profit, live-in and community-based agency serving youth aged 13 to 21 and their families across Ontario with programs addressing substance use and related issues.
