The Cheltenham Tri Festival 2026
The Cheltenham Tri Festival is a multi distance triathlon held at Cheltenham Lido with swim stages in the 50 metre outdoor pool and bike and run stages on routes around Cheltenham and through Sandford Park. Competitors must be over 17 years of age. A permit has been issued by British Triathlon.
Race options include:
- Supersprint: 400m swim, 9.2km cycle, 2.3km run
- Sprint: 800m swim, 18.2km cycle, 4.7km run
- Standard distance: 1500m swim, 44.8km cycle, 9.5km run
- Team Sprint Relay: 800m swim, 18.2km cycle, 4.7km run
Swim stages take place in a pool with entry and exit steps. Cycle and run routes are described as undulating and use a mixture of road and other surfaces. Transitions are separated from the swim by more than 20 metres and have mixed surface areas.
