The Castle Chase
The Castle Chase is the Island's only lunchtime beach trail run for a cause. It is a relay race for teams of two that runs from the shore at West Park out to Elizabeth Castle and back at low tide.
Each team member covers approximately two miles during their leg. The route is across sand and includes rocks and other natural obstacles on the foreshore. The race uses the exposed ground at low tide to reach the castle and return along the beach.
The event is sponsored by TMF and proceeds support Jersey Heritage and the charity’s work to protect the Island's history. Participation requires entrants to be over 18 years old and in good health. Team tickets are sold for pairs; both team members run to the castle and back as quickly as possible.
