Events
The Canyon Climb includes three running events: the Robert Smith 8K Run, the Nancy Grace 5K Run, and a 1 Mile Fun Run. The Robert Smith 8K is a USATF-certified course.
Course and Location
All events start and finish at the Tyler Center in Anniston, Alabama, at 731 Leighton Ave. The courses run through the hills of Anniston. For 2026, there is a new, less hilly 5K course option.
Awards
There are overall awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in five-year increments for the 8K and 5K. Participants in the 1 Mile Fun Run each receive a finisher medal, with overall awards for the first male and female finishers. A $50 reward is offered to anyone who breaks the existing 8K course record.
Additional Information
This event is the second race in the Anniston Runners Club Fab Four Series. Race day registration is available. T-shirts are allocated based on available stock, with early registration recommended to guarantee one. Online registration prices are listed, and prices increase for late registration.
