The C2C Essex Ultra
The c2c Essex Ultra is a charity ultramarathon event held along the Essex Riviera, supporting the children's cancer charity Gold Geese. Participants can choose between 30-mile and 50-mile routes, starting from Lansdowne Primary School in Tilbury and Upminster Station, respectively, and finishing at Thorpe Bay Station. The course follows the Thames eastward, incorporating parts of the London Loop and England Coast National Trails, featuring mainly tarmac and some hard trails with diverse scenery including urban areas, marshland, and riverbanks.
The event offers a fully marked route, medical support, checkpoints with food and water, and free travel on c2c trains for participants. It promises a challenging yet enjoyable atmosphere with prizes, refreshments, and commemorative medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
