The Bridlington Beach Fun Run and 5K
The Bridlington Beach 5K and accompanying Fun Run take place on 5 July 2026 at Bridlington South Beach, along the seafront at Princess Mary Promenade. The 5K follows a beach and coastline route and, for 2026, will be run on firmer sand due to more favourable tide times. Fancy dress is optional and a trophy is awarded for the best costume. Entry fees are set for the 5K with separate rates for affiliated runners, and participants receive a T shirt, water bottle and medal.
The event is organised by the Coastal Services team of East Riding of Yorkshire Council together with Bridlington Road Runners. It is licenced by the Trail Runners Association and held under UKA rules. The organisers note that the race is beach based and all competitors enter at their own risk; medical assistance is provided but the organisers do not accept liability for injury. Participants are advised to prepare for a sand course and to disclose medical conditions as required by the event rules.
Eligibility and practical points:
- 5K run for participants aged 12 years or over.
- Fun Run open to all, participants under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Places are limited. Five beach wheelchairs are available for Fun Run participants and are bookable on a first come, first served basis.
