The Bootleg Boogie
The Bootleg Boogie is a trail running event at Bootleg Canyon near Boulder City, Nevada, held on January 30, 2027. The event is organized around a 12.5-mile loop with approximately 1,875 feet of climbing and descent per lap. The loop format provides frequent access to aid, crew, and spectators at a centralized start/finish area.
Distances offered:
- 100 miles : 8 loops, ~15,000 feet total
- 50 miles : 4 loops, ~7,500 feet total
- Half marathon : 1 loop, ~1,875 feet total
The course features steadily rolling terrain with no extremely long climbs or reckless descents, which favors consistent pacing over time. The 100 mile event has a 30-hour cutoff. An early-start option may be available with race director approval for athletes needing additional time. Full race-week schedule, check-in details, and crew instructions will be provided closer to race day.
Aid stations appear multiple times per loop and are located at the start/finish (mile 0 and 12.5), Caldera (mile 6.9), and Veterans (mile 10.8). Common aid offerings include PB&J and ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit, snacks, cookies, hydration, electrolyte products, and hot food after sundown. Drop bags are available at Caldera and HQ.
There is a guaranteed $5,000 base purse for the 100 mile. After 100 registered 100-mile entrants, the purse increases by $100 for each additional 100-mile entrant. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Camping is permitted at base camp on a first-come basis; parking and crew access are limited to the HQ area. Paid volunteer positions are available for race-day duties. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
