The Bootleg Boogie is a loop-format trail race held in Bootleg Canyon near Boulder City, NV. Distances offered include:
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- Half Marathon
The course is a 12.5 mile loop with approximately 1,875 feet of elevation gain and descent per lap. Total elevation gain is listed as about 15,000 feet for the 100 mile (eight laps), about 7,500 feet for the 50 mile (four laps), and about 1,875 feet for the half marathon. Aid stations are placed at three locations on each loop: Start/Finish (HQ) at mile 0 and 12.5, Caldera at mile 6.9, and Veterans at mile 10.8. All aid stations offer similar food and hydration items, including sandwiches, fruit, snacks, water, electrolyte mixes, and hot food options after sundown. NSAIDs will not be provided. Drop bags are available at Caldera and HQ.
A guaranteed base purse of $5,000 is offered for the 100 mile, with additional funds added as registration thresholds are met. Prize money is awarded to the top overall male and female finishers; eligibility requires starting the 100 mile at the official race start. A 30 hour cutoff applies to the 100 mile distance.
Packet pickup is at the start/finish area on the day before and the morning of the race. Crews are allowed at HQ only; pacers are permitted after the specified mile for longer distances. Parking and first come first served camping are available near the base camp. Volunteers are used for race operations and paid volunteer roles are offered.
