Erie Canal Races
The Erie Canal Races take place on the Erie Canal Trail and begins and ends on the Whitesboro High School track in Marcy, NY. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 16, 2027, and offers multiple race options for participants.

- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10-Mile Relay (two-person, 5 miles per runner)
The course starts with a partial lap on the high school track, continues along a footpath adjacent to the school, crosses the pedestrian bridge at Paul Becker Road, and follows the Canal Trail. The 10-mile and 5K events use an out-and-back layout. The 10-mile turnaround is located just before the Harbor Point Lock and serves as the relay exchange point at the five-mile mark. The 5K route follows the same path with a marked halfway point to direct runners back to the track.
The event is restricted to registered runners and official race personnel. Walkers, dogs, skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, bicycles, and baby joggers or strollers are prohibited. The use of headphones is strongly discouraged.
Registration includes a t-shirt, a commemorative medal, on-course water stations and support, and post-race snacks. Packet pickup is available at the Boilermaker Corporate Office on the days before the race and near the start/finish on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
