The Black Fly Trail Run
The Black Fly Trail Run takes place in Westmore, Vermont on May 30, 2026 at the 856 Hinton Hill Road venue. The event offers multiple distances on mixed terrain that includes dirt roads, private trails, and state land.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (about 13 miles), mixed dirt roads and private trails, approximately 3,300 feet of elevation gain.

- 5K, similar to the 5k adult course with an opening climb and a viewpoint finish.
Courses cross two mountain summits on the half marathon and include sections of double track and single-track trail. Ground conditions may be affected by winter snowmelt; this could change camping options and may require a reroute of the 5k off the Sentinel Rock trails if conditions risk trail damage.
On-site amenities for registered participants include a farm to table post-race meal, beer and nonalcoholic drink options from a local brewery, local vendors, and live music followed by an evening barn dance.
