The Big Run 5K - Des Moines
The Big Run is an untimed community 5K held in Des Moines on June 3, 2026. The event includes club tables from local running groups, a product demo from Brooks where participants can try shoes during the run, and raffles featuring Brooks shoes and swag bags. Participants who register will receive a goodie bag while supplies last; goodie bags can be picked up before or after the run at SingleSpeed beginning at 5:00 PM. There is no packet pickup for this untimed event.
A casual post-run social takes place at SingleSpeed Brewing Co., with live music, food and drinks. The event also hosts a shoe drive to collect gently used running shoes for local shelters and track programs; attendees who bring a pair receive an extra raffle ticket.
Organizers suggest running, walking or biking to SingleSpeed. Parking is available on the Scott Avenue bridge and the grassy lot across from SingleSpeed. If participants use the parking ramp at Fleet Feet, SingleSpeed will provide a validation ticket; that ramp is about a 0.8 mile walk from SingleSpeed. Registration for the event is free.
