MLK Freedom Run 5K/10K/13.1 : Seattle
The MLK Freedom Run is an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day event at Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way Northeast, Seattle, WA. The event includes multiple race options and a family fun run. It is presented as a smaller, capped group run with waves that are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The run welcomes all paces and ages; participants under 18 must have a guardian.

Timing is optional; no timing chips are used. Participants may track time with apps and submit results for posting, or ask coordinators to record times. Race bibs are provided on race day. Swag is shipped to the registrant’s US mailing address; items include a running t-shirt, finisher’s towel or giveaway, finisher’s medal, a digital training pack, and an online certificate of completion. A technical running shirt is available as an optional upgrade for an additional fee. Virtual participants receive a digital training pack and may submit results to receive a medal. Registration fees are listed for each distance and are inclusive of mandatory charges. The event notes a post-race charity initiative that donates $1 for every mile logged after the race to partnered charities. Sponsors include Gatorade and several running-related organizations.
