Swims are open water in a slow moving river bay by the marina. Standard distance swims are two laps around marker buoys with a compulsory exit between laps. A water safety team will be positioned to assist as required. Marshals will be in place at key points on the bike courses.

Distances are given as approximate where noted. Race formats include:

  • Very Wee Beltie Novice: 300 m swim, 12 km bike, 3 km run. E bikes allowed.
  • Wee Beltie Olympic Standard: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run.
  • Wee Beltie Relay Olympic: relay format on the Olympic standard course.

The standard bike course is a one lap circuit around Loch Ken following local roads and includes a mix of faster sections and some climbs. Run routes are primarily on tarmac with a short trail section at the start of each lap. A pre race briefing is scheduled on the Saturday and further event details will be provided as they are finalised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
