The Beat Lives On 5K Run/Walk
The Beat Lives On 5K Run/Walk is a 5K race and walk held in Venetian Shores, Lindenhurst. Proceeds from the event benefit Long Island Facilities Raising Awareness and Support in the Fight Against Drug Addiction and the Beat Lives On Foundation.
All participants receive a colorful t-shirt (availability may end before the event), a decorative finisher medal, a raffle ticket, and a personalized bib when registration is completed at least three weeks in advance. Additional raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event. A virtual option is offered; virtual bibs are shipped within a window that can range from one week prior to one week after the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall with gift cards, to the top three men and women in multiple age groups (12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+), and to the top man and woman who are Lindenhurst residents.
Bib pickup is available in person; registration for in-person pickup opens at 8AM. Participants must know their bib number to collect a bib; a self-lookup area is provided. If registration occurs within 24 hours of bib pickup, the bib number can be texted or found via the bib lookup system.
The course starts at Venetian Park and follows local streets including Granada Parkway, Harding Avenue, East Shore Road, Wyona Avenue, Elm Street and Lido Parkway before returning to the park for the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
