The Beat Lives On 5K Run/Walk
The Beat Lives On 5K Run/Walk is a five-kilometre running and walking event held in Venetian Shores, Lindenhurst. Registration is not yet open and will open ahead of the date listed on the event page.
All participants receive a colorful t-shirt, a decorative finisher medal, a raffle ticket with additional tickets available for purchase at the event, and a personalized bib if registered at least three weeks in advance. Virtual participants can have their bibs shipped; the shipping window ranges from one week before the event to one week after.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall with gift cards, with age-group awards for male and female finishers in 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. There is also an award for the top male and top female Lindenhurst resident.
The course starts at Venetian Park and follows a loop through local streets, including Granada Parkway, Harding Avenue, East Shore Road, Perry Place, Wyona Avenue, Elm Street, Lido Parkway, Maple Avenue, West Lake Drive, Verona Parkway, Oak Avenue, Riviera Parkway, Beach Place, Venetian Boulevard, and returns into the park for the finish.
Proceeds benefit Long Island Facilities Raising Awareness and Support in the Fight Against Drug Addiction. Live results, same-day finish line photos, and event video are provided online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
