Course and logistics
Most courses are looped trail laps; the 100K and 50 Mile run multiple 12.5-mile loops and the 50K combines one short loop with two larger loops. About 99% of the courses are on dirt single-track or crusher-fine trails, with short asphalt sections on some distances. Organizers publish approximate total elevation gain that increases with distance, from low hundreds of feet for the 5K and 10K to several thousand feet for the 50K, 50 Mile, and 100K. Time limits are published per distance as race durations.
Aid stations are staffed with fluids (water, Tailwind, soda), snacks, fruit, and basic supplies; porta potties are available. Drop bags and crew assistance are allowed at the Start/Finish area only. Pacers are permitted for 100K and 50 Mile under specified rules; pacers are not allowed for shorter distances. Park entry rules require a park pass for entry after the race begins. Medical support and first aid are available at the main Start/Finish tent and at aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
