The Baldassare & MaraTHON
The Baldassare & MaraTHON is a community event held on June 14, 2026, in West Orange, New Jersey, at the Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex adjacent to Turtle Back Zoo. The event centers on 5K running and walking activities and benefits Danny's Pantry, a food pantry established by the District of New Jersey to assist families and individuals who use court-related support programs.
Event formats include in-person and virtual participation, and a student/child category. Check-in and race number and shirt pickup are located at the Clipper Pavilion. There will be plenty of parking with direct access to the registration area. Only clear small bags are allowed inside the venue and are subject to inspection.
The food pantry began after a Board of Judges action in August 2024 and provides donated food staples to people served by court programs such as the Pretrial Opportunity Program and ReNew Program. The event notes options for sponsorship and for others to pledge donations to participants. Virtual participants may have T-shirts mailed to them for an additional postage fee.
