Event Overview

The Bà Duathlon is an off-road duathlon taking place in Kinlochewe, in the northwest of Scotland. It is part of The Bà Event Series. The event has a rolling start window.

The Course

The duathlon consists of an 18-mile off-road run followed by a 62-mile road bike ride, totaling 80 miles. The run takes place on mountain trails and involves 1,000m of climbing and descending. The bike course merges with the route of The Bà Sportive. A key feature is a closed-road section over the Bealach Na Bà, described as the UK's longest road climb. The total elevation gain across both disciplines is 3,000m.

Event Details

Participants must be 18 or older. The event has a prerequisite list, and entrants are asked to provide details of their experience to secure a place. Entry includes a bike shuttle from the start to the transition zone, mountain safety cover, feed stations, and an end-of-event meal and ceilidh dance. Camping is available nearby for an additional donation. A rolling start is used, with all bikes required to be loaded by a specific time.
