The Bà Duathlon
The Bà Duathlon is an off road duathlon based in Kinlochewe, Scotland, scheduled for 5 September 2026. The full event covers 80 miles across mountain trails and coastal roads and is organised as part of the Bà Event Series. Minimum age for entry is 18.
Distances and key route facts:
- 18 miles off road mountain run with approximately 1,000 m of climb and descent before the bike.
- 62 miles road ride along the west coast back to Kinlochewe, joining the Sportive route onto Bealach Na Bà.
- 80 mile total and about 3,000 m of total elevation across run and ride.
The event includes a closed road section over Bealach Na Bà and timed segments for the uphill run, the Bealach bike climb, and overall time. Because of the remote and mountainous terrain, there is a prerequisite list and entrants must provide details of their experience to secure a place on the start list.
Included for entrants are a bike shuttle from the start to the transition zone, mountain safety cover, feed stations with snacks and hydration, and an end of event meal and ceilidh dance.
