About the race
The Bà Duathlon takes place in Kinlochewe in the North West of Scotland on 5 September 2026. The event pairs an off road run across mountain trails with a long road ride along the west coast that joins the route used by The Bà Sportive.
The sequence starts with an off road run that leads to a bike transition, followed by a road ride that includes the closed road section over Bealach Na Bà. The event lists 3,000 m of total elevation across the run and ride. Because of the remote and mountainous terrain there is a prerequisite list and entrants must provide details of their relevant experience to secure a place. Minimum age to enter is 18.
Distances and key figures:
- 80 miles total duathlon distance
- 18 miles off road run with 1,000 m climb and descent
- 62 miles road ride including the Bealach Na Bà closed road section
Participant services and race structure mentioned by the organiser include a closed road over Bealach Na Bà, a bike shuttle to the transition zone, timed segments for uphill run, Bealach bike climb and overall time, mountain safety cover, feed stations, and an end of event meal with a ceilidh dance. Camping in a basic field for tents or vans is available for a donation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
