The Bà Duathlon
The Bà Duathlon is an off-road duathlon held in Kinlochewe, Scotland on 5 September 2026. The event combines a mountain trail run followed by a long road ride that returns to the start location. The route merges with the Bà Sportive on the road section and includes a closed road ascent of Bealach Na Bà.
The format and distances are:
- 80-mile duathlon total
- 18-mile off-road run with about 1,000 m of ascent and descent before transition
- 62-mile road ride back to Kinlochewe
The course totals approximately 3,000 m of elevation across both run and ride. Because of the remote and mountainous terrain, the event requires applicants to meet a prerequisites list and to provide details of prior experience for selection to the start list. Entry details show a base fee of £90 and a minimum age of 18 years. Entries open 31 October 2025 and close 31 July 2026.
Event services listed for entrants include a bike shuttle to the transition zone, timed segments for the uphill run and the Bealach bike climb plus overall time, mountain safety cover, feed stations, an end of event meal and a ceilidh dance. Basic camping on a field is available for a voluntary £10 donation from Friday evening until Sunday midday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
