The Bà Duathlon - Kinlochewe
The Bà Duathlon is a single-day off-road and road event based in Kinlochewe in the North West of Scotland on 5 September 2026. The event is an 80-mile duathlon that combines an off-road run with a long road ride and includes closed-road access on the Bealach Na Bà climb.
The opening run covers approximately 18 miles on mountain trails, with about 1,000 m of ascent and descent before transition to the bike. The subsequent road ride is about 62 miles, rejoining the Sportive route to include the closed Bealach Na Bà climb. The combined run and ride feature roughly 3,000 m of total elevation.
Because the route passes through remote and mountainous terrain, there is a prerequisite list and entrants must provide details of their experience to be accepted. The event includes a closed-road section over Bealach Na Bà, a bike shuttle from the start to the transition zone, timed segments for the uphill run, the Bealach bike climb, and overall time, mountain safety cover, and feed stations.
Entries are limited to those aged 18 or older. Entry fee listed is £90. The event package also notes an end-of-event meal and a Ceilidh dance. A basic camping field is available for a £10 donation with set opening and closing times for the weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
