CELTMAN! Extreme Scottish Triathlon
CELTMAN! is an XTRI World Tour race in Torridon, Wester Ross, Scotland, scheduled for 12 June 2027. The event combines open-water swimming, long-distance cycling on highland roads, and a mountain trail run across two Munros.
The route and conditions include:
- 3.4 km Atlantic swim in cold, jellyfish-infested water
- 200 km Highland bike with 2200 m of climbing
- 42 km mountain run over two Munros, 1600 m ascent
The swim distance is set at 3.4 km because the loch water is consistently cold; athletes can suffer from the low temperature. Weather in the area can include strong winds, driving rain and low visibility; the bike route is commonly affected by headwinds on the final third. The run crosses two Munros in the Beinn Eighe range and gains substantial elevation, with views dependent on weather.
