The Auburn Mile
The Auburn Mile is a community running event held in downtown Auburn, California, on the Fourth of July. The race begins in the downtown area and follows the full parade route, finishing back at the Downtown Square on closed parade streets. Spectators line the route and the course is described as a crowd lined street route.
The event offers chip timing and provides a race shirt to participants. Multiple short youth races take place before the main one mile run, allowing participation across age groups. Registration fees listed for the events are twenty five dollars for the one mile event and ten dollars for the youth dashes.
The event location is 833 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603. The format follows the parade route so the running course uses the parade street closures and the finish returns to the downtown square. The emphasis in the event description is on a community centered experience that takes place just before the town parade and that includes both runners and walkers.
