Event
The Alpenglow 100 is a mountain trail running event in Valemount, BC, held Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, 2026. Distances offered are:
- 35 km
- 60 km
- 100 km
- Kids race: ~1 km, non-timed
The start and finish are at Whiskey Fill Farm in Valemount. The event acknowledges the ancestral and unceded territories of the Secwepemc Nation. Package pickup, host hotel arrangements, and post-race festivities are part of the event weekend.
Courses and logistics
The courses use local mountains McKirdy and Swift and reach high alpine ridgelines above 2100-2400 m. Listed ascent/descent values are: 35 km - 1700 m, 60 km - 3300 m, 100 km - 4800 m. ITRA points are shown for each distance (35K: 2, 60K: 3, 100K: 4). Aid station and drop bag arrangements:
- 35 km: 3 aid stations; no drop bag access.
- 60 km: 8 aid stations; one drop bag permitted.
- 100 km: 12 aid stations; two drop bags, each accessed twice.
The race is cupless; runners must carry a personal cup or bottle for aid station fluids. Mandatory gear lists vary by distance. The 100 km list includes basic emergency kit items, a windproof jacket, two light sources of minimum 150 lumens, and a collapsible cup. 60 km and 35 km require the ability to carry food and fluids and suitable clothing. Crew access is limited: no crew for 35 km, minimal access for 60 km, and one designated crew point for 100 km at the Swift aid station. Shuttle service runs between town and the farm; no parking is available at the start/finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
