The Alpenglow 100

The Event
The Alpenglow 100 is a trail running series held in Valemount, British Columbia, from July 3 to 5, 2026. The courses traverse local mountains with significant elevation gain.
The Distances
The available distances are:
- 38 km with 1700 m of ascent and descent.
- 65 km with 3300 m of ascent and descent.
- 100 km with 4800 m of ascent and descent.
- A kids' race of approximately 1 km, which is untimed and free.
The Course
The 38 km and 100 km races run a counterclockwise loop over the Mount McKirdy ridgeline, topping out at over 2300 meters. The 65 km race and the second half of the 100 km also include an ascent of Swift Mountain. The high points offer sightline views of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, as well as the Premier Range, the Monashees, and Kinbasket Lake.
The 100 km race starts on Friday night at 8:30 PM, with approximately 7 hours of running in darkness. The 65 km and 38 km races start on Saturday morning.
Practical Information
The start and finish are at Whiskey Fill Farm near Valemount. A shuttle bus operates from the Valemount Community Hall. Crew access is very limited, with only one crew access point for the 65 km and 100 km distances.
A mandatory gear list is required for all distances, including a waterproof breathable jacket, space blankets, gloves, and a toque. For the 100 km, two light sources of minimum 150 lumens each are required. Poles are allowed for all distances. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own cup for aid station beverages.
Personal drop bags are permitted for the 65 km (one bag) and 100 km (two bags) distances. Bags must be dropped at the designated location prior to the race.
Awards are presented for the top three per gender and the top overall non-binary runner for each distance. All finishers receive a medal.
