Event overview
The Alpenglow 100 is a mountain trail running event in Valemount, BC held over a July weekend in 2025. Distances offered are:
- 35 km
- 60 km
- 100 km
- kids race
Finish and start activities are based at Whiskey Fill Farm in Valemount. Awards are presented for the top three in each gender and the top overall non-binary in each distance. All finishers receive a finisher medal. The event acknowledges it takes place on the ancestral and unceded territories of the Secwepemc Nation.
Course, aid stations and logistics
The courses loop over local mountains including Mount McKirdy and Swift Mountain with high points over 2,100-2,400 m. Official ascent/descent figures are listed per distance (example for 100 km: 4,800 m up / 4,800 m down). ITRA points are noted for each distance.
Aid station coverage and drop bag rules differ by distance: the 35 km has 3 aid stations and no drop bag access; the 60 km has 8 aid stations and one drop bag; the 100 km has 12 aid stations and two drop bags accessed multiple times. Aid stations offer drinks, gels, snacks and at least one hot food item overnight. The event is cupless - runners must carry their own cup or bottle. Mandatory gear lists vary by distance; 100 km runners must carry two light sources and emergency items. No parking is available at the start/finish; shuttle service runs between town and the farm and crew access is limited with specific permitted crew points for 60 km and 100 km.
