Course, format and beneficiaries
The 5K and 10K courses are USA Track & Field sanctioned and use varied terrain: pavement, dirt roads, and two tracks through woods in Antrim County. The 2 Mile Fun Walk follows paved roads and is described as stroller, pet, and kid friendly. The event is noted to start at a quilt show and end at a rummage sale.
Proceeds are shared with Bellaire, Mancelona, and Central Lake schools, including funds for athletic and art departments. Additional donations go to the Downtown Alden Business Association and other local non-profit organizations. Awards and door prizes from local merchants are presented after the race.
