The Adder Dash

Runwold presents The Adder Dash on 19 September 2026, a 13 km run through the rolling hills and woods of the South Downs near Lewes. The route traverses countryside typical of the area and uses paths across downs and woodland.

The event base is at The Old Racecourse, Lewes, BN7 1UR, a site that now includes a cafe and a sauna. Organisers list add-ons such as finish-line sauna entry and event merchandise; travel and event information are provided to entrants by email after registration.

Funds raised by the event will go to South Downs Conservation and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust. The local landscape supports a variety of British flora and fauna, and includes habitat types such as chalk grassland, scrub and sunny south-facing slopes where the adder, the UKs only native venomous snake, can be found.

The event note emphasises leaving no trace and enjoying the race. Entry is listed at £36.50. Sponsors named for the event include The Salt Block Lewes, Pace Physio and Pints Per Kilometre. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
