Thanksgiving Day Turkey Run & Walk
This is the annual Turkey Trot held at the Activity Center at Shadyside Park, adjacent to the Pickleball courts, in Anderson, Indiana. The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day at Shadyside Lake and is organized as both a walking and a running event.
Distances:
- 2.64 miles, walkers complete one lap.
- Approximately 5.28 miles, runners complete two laps.
Registration is available online or on the day of the event and carries a fee of $5. Registration open and close dates are provided for the event schedule. There is no event shirt included with registration.
Participants should bring their own hydration and nutrition because water and energy supplies are not provided on the course. All proceeds from the event go to Outfitters, an organization that provides new and gently used clothing to school-age children in need; the event previously supported clothing for over 1,100 children in Madison County for a week. Top male and female finishers in both running and walking categories will receive prizes, including pies and other items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
