Event overview

The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Run & Walk takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at Shadyside Lake / Shadyside Park in Anderson, IN. The event offers two entries: a run (run or run-walk) and a walk (walk only). Registration is $5 and is available online or on the day of the event; day-of registration opens at 7:15 AM. Registration closes November 25, 2026, at 9:00 PM EST.

Course and logistics

The activity base is the Activity Center at Shadyside Park (next to the pickleball courts), located at 829 Alexandria Pike, Anderson, IN 46012. Walkers complete one lap (approximately 2.64 miles). Runners complete two laps (approximately 5.28 miles). Water and energy will not be provided on the course; participants should bring their own hydration and nutrition. No shirts are provided with registration.

Charity and awards

All proceeds go to Outfitters, an organization that provides new and gently used clothing to school-age children in need; last year it served over 1,100 children in Madison County with a week’s worth of clothing.
