Thankful 5K - Pittsfield
The Thankful 5K is a Thanksgiving morning fundraiser in Pittsfield that supports local food pantries, including the Pittsfield Community Food Pantry and the Fuel Assistance Fund. The event collects monetary donations and non-perishable food; registrants are asked to drop food donations at the Berkshire Running Center before the event or bring them to bib pickup the day before.
The course begins at the end of West Street on the Berkshire Community College campus, proceeds through campus driveways and out onto West Street to Meadowridge, continues to the Woodland Drive cul-de-sac, returns on Meadowridge, and finishes with a downhill into the Paterson parking lot. Paterson Field House parking is available at Berkshire Community College.
Registration fees vary by date, with a lower early rate and higher fees closer to the event date; Berkshire County students in K-12 may register for free though event swag for students is not included. The first 600 registered participants receive a Thankful Hat. Fundraising incentives include a pair of MountainOne Thankful Mittens for participants who raise $250 and a MountainOne Thankful 5K vest for those who raise $1000. A post-race raffle is held and prizes will be distributed.
Race amenities include porta-potties at the start and finish, water stops near miles 1 and 2, and water and snacks at the finish. No refunds are offered under any circumstances. Wheelchairs and disabled push strollers are welcome and organizers can provide accommodations if notified in advance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
