About the race
Thames Turbo Women’s Aquathlon is a women-only open water swim and run event held at Shepperton Lake (Ferris Meadow Lake, Ferry Lane, Shepperton TW17 9LH). The course uses calm lake water for the swim and a flat run route designed to be approachable for newcomers while also available to more experienced multisport athletes who prefer a women-only event.
Distances offered:
- 250 m swim, 2 km jog/walk (1 lap)
- 600 m swim, 6 km jog/run (3 laps)
Event facilities and services include a changing area, outside cold showers, bag drop, a transition tent with sides for full change, and portaloo toilets stocked with period products. All participants receive a swim float; wetsuit hire is available but limited. Aid stations are positioned at the start of the run and on lap routes offering water, cola, and light snacks. The venue provides on-site shops, hot drinks, and homemade pizza for spectators and participants. Bike racks and on-site parking with overflow parking are available, and car sharing is encouraged.
Public transport access is via Shepperton Station with a walking approach of about 15–20 minutes; local bus services also serve Shepperton. Organisers operate on a no cut-off-time policy and will confirm water temperature closer to the event. The club seeks marshals to support event operations.
