Thames Riverside 20

The Thames Riverside 20 is a paced 20 miles race on 22 March 2026, organised by Clapham Chasers. The event starts and finishes at Old Deer Park (next to Pools on the Park) in Richmond, London. Entry is open only to people aged 18 and over on the event date. Entry fees are listed between £33 and £35. Race entries close on 21 March 2026 and no entries are accepted on the day.

Course and facilities

The route runs along the south side of the River Thames towpath. The course is flat, traffic free and mostly off road. Surface is primarily gravel with mud in places and limited lengths of footpath; some stretches are uneven. Each mile point is marked and short diversions may be used if there is maintenance or flooding. Runners must keep left on the towpath because the course is open to the public who retain right of way.

There are cupped energy drinks and water provided approximately every three miles (at miles 3, 6, 9, 11, 14 and 17) and at race headquarters. Portaloos are provided at the start/finish area. Covered, supervised baggage storage will be available at race headquarters; bags are left at runners' own risk.

Race support and rules

Dedicated pace groups are organised for a range of mile paces. Marshals and direction arrows will be used on the course. Bicycle first aiders will be on the route and an ambulance crew will be based at race headquarters. Results are published online immediately after the race. The event is held under British Athletics rules. The use of headphones is not permitted and littering may lead to disqualification. Parking is available opposite Old Deer Park; Richmond rail station is a short walk away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
