Event overview
Thames Riverside 20 is a paced 20 miles running event hosted by Clapham Chasers Running & Triathlon Club. The next edition is set for 22/03/2026 with start and finish at Old Deer Park (next to Pools on the Park), Richmond, London. The route runs along the south side of the River Thames towpath and is traffic free.
Course and race information
The course is described as flat, mostly off road and traffic free. Terrain varies and is uneven in places; the surface is primarily gravel with mud in places and some short lengths of footpath. Each mile point will be marked and marshals and direction arrows will be employed. Short, well-marked diversions may be used if there is maintenance or flooding. Runners must keep left at all times because the course will be open to the public who retain right of way.
Paced groups will be organised with standard paces per mile (7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30 and 10:00). Drink stations with cupped water and energy drinks are provided approximately every 3 miles (at miles 3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 17) and at race HQ. Covered, supervised baggage storage and portaloos are available at race HQ. Bicycle first aiders will be on the course and an ambulance crew will be at race HQ. The race is run under British Athletics rules. Results will be published online immediately after the race. Headphones are not permitted and littering may lead to disqualification. Registration closes at midnight on 21/03/26; no race-day entries or refunds after close. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
