Event overview
Thames Meander Autumn is a riverside race organised by Hermes Running on the Thames Path. The event takes place on 4 October 2026 and offers three distance options. The course follows towpaths and trail sections alongside the River Thames and is described as flat and runnable. The route is open to members of the public and other path users, including cyclists. Entry is open to runners aged 17 to 80 for most distances; the marathon has a minimum age of 18. Entry fees are listed in a range from £33 to £55 depending on distance.
Routes and logistics
- 10 km: one out-and-back lap to Kew Gardens Car Park turnaround.
- Half marathon (13.1 miles): one out-and-back to the Barnes turnaround.
- Marathon: two 13.1 mile out-and-back loops to the Barnes turnaround.
The event uses three check points along the route. Check points are reported at Kew Gardens Car Park (Ferry Lane), Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (Richmond), and the Barnes / Small Profit Dock Gardens area. Check points are described as well stocked with energy foods, gels, drinks and electrolyte powders. Medical support is provided by KLP Medics at the start/finish and at the Kew Gardens check point.
