Tempo Winter 10K Series 2026-27
The Tempo Winter 10K Series 2026-27 is a set of five 10 km road races held monthly from October to February. The scheduled race dates are 18 October 2026, 15 November 2026, 20 December 2026, 17 January 2027 and 21 February 2027. Numbers are restricted and entries are limited.
Each race follows a country road course around Ilmington with notable features including Mickleton Road, the ascent at Larkstoke, Nebsworth Lane, Campden Hill and sections past the Red Lion and the Howard Arms. Races 1 and 4 are counter-clockwise, races 2 and 5 are clockwise, and Race 3 uses a different route revealed on the day. Finishes are on the grass field by Ilmington Sports and Social Club.
Chips are attached to the rear of race numbers; the same number is used for subsequent races, so runners should keep the same number for the series. Finishers at each race receive a pack of sausages with vegetarian and vegan options. On the day prizes are given to the first three male and female finishers and cash prizes are awarded to age category winners in ten year groups from 35 years, based on gun time. Series prizes use gender points across all five races; runners who complete all five races receive a Tempo Events memento at the final round.
Parking is provided on a closed road at Ballards Lane and there is limited parking at the Sports Club; it is a short walk from the car park to the club. Bone conduction sports headphones only are permitted because the event is on open roads. The event allows withdrawals up to six weeks before a race with a refund less a £2.00 administration fee; after that date transfers are possible under the organiser's rules. If a runner is injured they may qualify for series credit by marshalling at that race if the organiser is informed in advance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
