Event Overview
The Telemark Sprint Triathlon takes place in Cable, Wisconsin. It is the second annual edition of the event. The race raises funds for the Telemark Activity Center, an aquatic and fitness facility planned by the Telemark Northwoods Community Foundation.
Course and Format
The sprint-distance triathlon consists of three sequential legs:
- A 750 meter swim in Perry Lake.
- A 12 mile bike ride on a route around Takodah Lake.
- A 5K run on the paved Telemark Trail system.
The race starts at the Perry Lake Boat Landing. The finish line is at the future site of the Telemark Activity Center, across from the Telemark Village Hub building near 15555 Birkie Boulevard.
Race Details
There are two competition divisions: individual and relay. In the relay division, a participant may complete more than one leg of the race. Registration opens on January 31, 2026.
There is no parking at the start line. Parking is at the Telemark Lower Parking Lot near the bike-to-run transition. A shuttle with a bike rack is available from Telemark to the start at 8:30 a.m., but a reservation is required.
Bikes must be dropped off at the Perry Lake Landing the evening before the race or on the morning of the race before 8:45 a.m. Participants can drop off a bag with running shoes at the bike-to-run transition during bib pick-up or on race morning starting at 7 a.m.
Logistics
Bib pick-up is scheduled for Friday, August 14th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 15315 Nordmor Road in Cable. T-shirts are available for purchase for $20 during event checkout, with an option to decline. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners in the individual triathlon and to the overall winner of the relay division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
