Ted's Run for Literacy
Ted's Run for Literacy takes place in Kildonan Park, Winnipeg, with the start at the Fox & Deer Shelter. The event offers multiple distance options and directs proceeds to local literacy and youth organizations in partnership with The Winnipeg Foundation.
- 2 km - one loop on the park walkway, not timed.
- 5 km - exits the park via Scotia Avenue, chip timed, water near turnaround.
- 10 km - exits via Scotia Avenue to St. John's Park, chip timed, water and porta-toilet.
The main format is an out-and-back course from the Fox & Deer Shelter. The section through St. John's Park includes a short off-road segment.
The event is fully inclusive and welcomes runners, walkers, and wheelers. Skateboards and bicycles are not permitted on the course for participant safety.
Established in 2010, the event has donated over CA$100,000 to nonprofits that address poverty. Proceeds support LiteracyWORKS and CanU in partnership with The Winnipeg Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
