Team RunFree 5K
Team RunFree presents its seventh annual Miles of Smiles event on June 13 in Adel, Iowa. The event uses an altered course this year because of local street construction; the race will begin and end at Evans Park, 925 So. 12th St. The route travels streets, parks and trails in Adel.
There are two event options:
- 3.1 miles chip-timed 5K race
- 2 miles untimed walk in a separate walking category
Team RunFree and the Synergy adaptive running teams will share the course. Medals are awarded to the top two finishers in each age and gender runner group. All racers and volunteers receive a Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwich, fruit, snacks and brewed coffee from The Rooted Bean. All participants also receive a pair of Team RunFree socks. Lincoln Savings Bank is listed as a sponsor.
Registration opens March 23 with an early price of $15, increasing to $20 on May 1 and to $25 on June 1. Packet pick-up is available Friday, June 12 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Adel Pavilion, 1016 Main, Adel, IA 50003, and Saturday, June 13 from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. at a location to be determined.
