Teal Steps Ovarian Cancer Walk - Overview

The Teal Steps Ovarian Cancer Walk is the 11th annual fundraising walk held on September 20, 2026, at Tidelands Park, 2000 Mullinex Drive, Coronado, CA 92118. The event offers a 2 mile out-and-back walk along Coronado’s bayfront with views of the San Diego skyline and passing ships. An in person walk and a virtual option are both available, with separate adult and kids entries.

Registered participants receive an event T-shirt featuring a new 2026 design and one complimentary raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event for $1 each or an arm’s length for $10. Raffle entries must be submitted at the Ovarian Cancer Alliance raffle booth; winners will be announced from the main stage and must be present to win. Post-walk activities include refreshments, entertainment, and vendor booths. Participants may add a dog to their registration; dogs who register receive a special bandana.

Team captains recruit participants, distribute materials such as bib numbers and shirts, and coordinate team members. Teams with 20 or more registered members by 9/4/26 will have their team name printed on the back of their shirts. Teams with 50 or more registered members by 9/4/26 will also receive a 10 ft x 10 ft pop-up space with an 8 ft table and two chairs as a meeting area on walk day.

Funds raised support the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego for public education and outreach programs, the HEAR program, and financial support for medical fellows at UCSD School of Medicine with emphasis on gynecologic oncology. The event material notes that ovarian cancer has no screening test for early detection, an overall five-year survival rate of 45%, and when detected early a survival rate over 90%.
