Tay Ten
The Tay Ten is a Scottish Athletics licensed running event organized by the Perth Road Runners. Now in its 11th year, the race features an accurately measured and certified course of 10 miles. The route utilizes a mix of "B" class roads, riverside tracks, and cycleways.
The course is predominantly flat and fast, starting and finishing at the George Duncan Athletics Track at Perth Grammar School. While the vast majority of the route is on tarmac, participants will encounter a small section on trail. The entire route is clearly marked and supported by marshals.
Participants can choose between different entry options regarding finisher mementos. The event offers a bespoke wooden medal produced by a workshop in Aberfeldy, or a lower entry fee for those who prefer not to receive a medal. All finishers receive items supplied by sponsors.
Facilities at the venue include:
- Registration at Perth Grammar School Games Hall
- Car parking at Perth Grammar School and surrounding areas
- Toilet facilities, including gender-neutral options
- Limited changing rooms at the track
- On-site catering for participants and spectators
The event has a strict limit of 375 runners and a course cut-off time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The race is timed based on gun time, and there is one water station on the route that runners pass twice. For safety reasons, only bone conduction headphones are permitted.
