Event Overview

The Tay Ten (TT) is an open ten-mile road race held each spring in Perth. It starts and finishes on the athletics track at the George Duncan Athletics Arena in North Muirton. The event was first run in 2014.

The Course

The course is run on tarmac and asphalt surfaces and is described as fast and flat, with a total elevation climb of just 25-30 metres. Around 90% of the route avoids public roads, using paths and cycleways around the north of Perth. A water station on the route is passed twice by runners.

Entry and Fees

Entry is via Entry Central, with no on-the-day entries. For the 2026 race, 375 places are available. Entry fees vary depending on Scottish Athletics membership status and the choice of a wooden medal. Runners can choose a no-medal or a with-medal option at different price points. The minimum entry age is 17.

Awards and Categories

Prizes are awarded for the top three overall male and female finishers, the first non-binary/other finisher, and the first male and female teams. There are also age category prizes for Under-20, Vets (40-49), Supervets (50-59), Master Vets (60-69), and Vintage Vets (70+). Course record and age category record prizes are also awarded. A minimum of three entrants is required for standard age category prizes to be awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
