Tarpon Triathlon
The Tarpon Triathlon takes place on August 1, 2026 at the Bayou Black Recreation Center in Houma, Louisiana. The venue address is 3688 Southdown Mandalay Road, Bayou Black Recreation Center, Houma LA 70360.
The event includes three competition formats: an Individual Triathlon, an Adult Relay Team, and a Youth Relay Team. Packet pick up is available the day before at the Bayou Black Pool House, the building directly behind the gym, and on race day at the venue. Race day procedures include race day sign in and packet pick up, body marking, and timing chip pick up. Organizers may open the pool for warm ups if lifeguards are present. There is a pre-race meeting and the transition area closes prior to the race.
A post-race area will offer food, drinks, and music. The site has a park for children and shaded areas for cooling off after the event. Awards are presented by overall male and female winners, age group placings for male and female competitors in standard age brackets, and top adult and youth relay teams based on average team age.
Registration fees vary by date: early rates through July 8, late rates July 9 to July 28, and last minute rates July 29 to August 1. Local accommodations include hotels along Martin Luther King Boulevard about a 10 to 15 minute drive and other nearby hotels about a 5 to 10 minute drive from the race site.
