Tara Sturgis Memorial Pints & Paws 5K and 1 mile
This memorial run and walk takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Carl's Family YMCA, 300 Family Dr, Milford, Michigan. The courses start at the YMCA and follow the Milford Trail.
Event distances include:
- 5K - follows the Milford Trail.
- 1 mile - follows the Milford Trail.
- Double 1 mile and 5K - combined distance of 4.1 miles.
All race participants receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. All four-legged participants receive a custom race bandana. Each registered participant also receives a ticket redeemable at River's Edge Brewery. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before September 1, 2026; shirts registered after that date or on race day are subject to availability.
Registration opens March 22, 2026 and closes August 13, 2026. Registration fees listed by event are $25 for the 5K, $20 for the 1 mile, and $30 for the double entry.
The event honors a memorial fund and directs 100 percent of proceeds to provide grants to animal welfare groups. The memorial fund supports programs that offer general welfare, emergency and medical services, and foster and adoption services for animals.
Awards are given in the 5K to overall male and female finishers and top places in age groups. Double and 5K overall awards are also presented. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
