TANRI Lake Race 2026
TANRI Lake Race 2026 takes place at YMCA Sequoia Lake. The course sits at approximately 6,000 feet elevation and uses looped circuits around the lake. The event offers multiple race formats with defined lap distances.
- Relay teams: 5-mile loops per lap.
- 10K: 6.2-mile single loop.
- Individual: 5-mile laps in a timed 10-hour event.
The relay format requires teams of three runners. Each team member must complete four loops in the same running order as the first lap; deviations from that order result in disqualification. Relay exchanges occur once a team member crosses the finish of a loop and the next runner begins from behind the start line. The relay is not separated into men's or women's divisions. Prize money is awarded to the top three teams.
The 10K is a single loop around the lake. The 10K has separate men's and women's divisions with podium prizes for the top three finishers.
The individual race is a timed 10-hour event in which runners complete as many 5-mile laps as possible. Only individual entrants are eligible for the Western States raffle; completing eight or more laps qualifies an entrant for the race organizer's raffle. The raffle awards additional entries for consecutive years of participation. A Tanri hat and a Saturday dinner are included with registration for all race options.
