Event overview
Tanri Lake Race takes place on August 29, 2026 in Miramonte, CA. The event includes a relay race, an individual race, a 10K, and a visitor day pass. The course sits at approximately 6,000 feet elevation and uses a looped route recorded on Strava. Registration opens January 8, 2026.
Race formats and rules
Relay teams must consist of three runners. Each relay loop is 5 miles and each team member completes four loops in the same order as the first loop; changing the order leads to disqualification. When a team member crosses the finish of a loop, the next runner may begin from behind the start line.
The individual event is a 10-hour format in which runners complete as many 5-mile laps as possible. Only entrants in the individual race are eligible for the Western States raffle; runners must complete at least eight laps to qualify. Raffle ticket allocation increases with consecutive years of participation: 1 ticket in year one, 2 tickets in year two, and 4 tickets in year three. The individual race has separate men's and women's divisions.
The 10K is a single-lap course around the lake of 6.2 miles.
