Tamworth 10K
The Tamworth 10K is a measured 10K road and park race that starts and finishes in the Castle Grounds at Tamworth Castle. The course follows a 5 km loop that takes in parkland, a canal section in Fazeley, and sections through the town center. The organisers describe the terrain as generally flat and fast, and the course is certificated by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
Practical arrangements include race numbers sent out 7 to 14 days before the event and a designated bag drop area typically located near the registration desk. All races provide a bespoke finisher medal; some events also offer t-shirts or sports bottles. Food and drink at the finish commonly include water, chocolate bars, nutrition bars, and bananas. Water stations are provided at approximately every 5 km, with additional stations or sponges added if conditions require. Shorter races use kilometre markers and longer races use mile markers.
Event rules and services noted by the organisers: listening to music with headphones is not permitted except for jawbone conduction devices; pushchairs, strollers, bikes, buggies, and similar items are not allowed for safety reasons; wheelchair athletes should discuss route suitability with the organisers because some routes may not be wheelchair accessible. Race entries may be transferred to the following year or another Tamworth event within 12 months, transfers to another runner are possible, and a partial refund option is available minus an administration fee provided the change is made before race numbers are issued. Replacement race numbers incur a small administration charge. The organisers do not use a UKA race license and results will not appear on Powerof10. An official race photographer attends events. The organisers state a commitment to reducing environmental impact and exploring alternatives to non recyclable plastics. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, delay, or postpone the event and limit liability to the entry fee in specified circumstances.
