Tammany Turkey Trot
The Tammany Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning road event in Covington, Louisiana, held around downtown and nearby neighborhoods. Runners follow routes that pass through historic downtown streets and under moss-covered trees, with the finish located at the St. Tammany Courthouse.
Both the 5K and the 5 mile courses travel north from just north of downtown, pass through downtown Covington, and move past tree-lined streets. Near St. Paul's High School the courses turn west briefly and then head north toward the courthouse finish. The 5 mile route continues further south past residential areas before rejoining the 5K course for the return to downtown.
A separate 1 mile fun run takes place before the other distances. Assisted entry options are offered for the 5K and the 5 mile races.
Registration details are provided for each race. Standard race registration opens on June 1, 2026 and closes on June 5, 2026. Assisted entries open on June 1, 2026 and remain available through the day of the event. Published entry fees in the source material list amounts for each event.
