Tammany Turkey Trot
The Tammany Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning road event held in Covington, Louisiana. It takes place in and around downtown Covington with a start area just north of the downtown district and a finish at the St Tammany Courthouse. The course runs through downtown streets and into areas lined with moss covered trees. Near St Pauls High School the route turns west and then north toward the courthouse.
Distances offered include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5 Mile Run
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Five mile participants follow an extended route that goes further south past residential areas before rejoining the 5K course and returning to downtown. The 1 Mile Fun Run is held before the two longer events. The event location is listed as 701 N Columbia Street, Covington, LA 70433.
