About the race
The Tall Shadows Ultra Course Preview is a 20 km course preview at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park in Moose Jaw No. 161, Saskatchewan on October 24, 2026. The outing is not a competitive race; participants move as a group with leaders in three pace groups and a no one left behind approach. The meeting location for the runs is the Chalet parking lot.
After the Saturday run participants gather at the Trailhead Cafe for a shared supper. The cafe will offer vegetarian options and its regular menu will be available for children or spectators. Following the meal there will be a short presentation about the 2027 event, a question and answer session, and door prizes.
Group camping is available at Rankins beginning Friday. The campground is described as rustic with pit toilets only; a hand washing station will be set up. Participants are asked to bring their own water and snacks. The campground includes a small beach and there may be optional lake dipping.
A Sunday morning group run is offered with a 10 km route and a 5 km option that follows the first half of the 10 km course. A Saskatchewan Provincial Park pass is required for park entry and can be purchased online or at the park kiosk.
