Tails & Trails 5K - Event
The Tails & Trails 5K is scheduled for August 16, 2026, in Clarkston, Michigan. The event is the third annual edition and is open to walkers and runners of all ages. Distances offered include:

The event location is 9501 Sashabaw Road, Clarkston, MI 48348. The 5K course uses trails at Independence Oaks.
Pets, onsite activities and fundraising
Dogs and cats are allowed to participate with their owner if the animal has a current license and is kept on a 6 foot leash. Owners must keep control of their pets at all times. A family fun zone and local animal-related vendors such as markets and groomers will be on site during the event.
The event is fundraising for two animal rescues: Do Only Good Animal Rescue and Great Lakes Dog Rescue. Do Only Good is a foster-based local nonprofit that facilitates adoptions from the Oakland County Animal Shelter and provides shelter and care for over 4,000 animals each year. Great Lakes Dog Rescue rescues adoptable dogs from animal control and owner surrenders and provides shelter and medical care until adoption.
