Event Overview
The Tacos & Tequila 5k is a running event on Saturday, May 2, 2026. It is the fifth annual edition of this event, hosted by Performance Race Services. The race takes place at CoolRay Field (2500 Buford Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30043), which is a new location for the event. The start is in front of the main entrance of the Gwinnett Stripers stadium.

Participant Perks
Participants receive a custom Tacos & Tequila 5k medal, two tacos, chips with salsa, and one margarita (with lemonade offered for those under 21). Additional food and drinks are available for purchase. Those who register before the t-shirt cutoff date (April 12, 2026) receive a blend t-shirt, subject to availability. Finishers also receive a "TNT Sombreo" hat upon crossing the finish line.
Schedule and Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Friday, May 1 at Big Peach Running in Suwanee from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and on race day starting at 9:30 AM at the Gwinnett Stripers Stadium. Music and the fiesta begin at 9:00 AM, with the post-race fiesta lasting until 2:00 PM. Restrooms are located inside the stadium.
Awards
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three masters (male and female), and the top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from 1-10 up to 70+. Additional awards are given for Best Costume, Best Dog Costume, Best Mexican Grito scream, and Largest Team.
Charity Partnership
The event supports the local Lawrenceville Co-Op, which feeds over 350 families per week. A portion of each registration fee is donated, and participants are encouraged to make additional cash or item donations. Over the past four years, the event has donated $20,000 to this cause.
